Turtle Island Jobs ("we", "us") is a Canadian job board platform serving First Nations, Métis, Inuit, and Indigenous youth talent. We operate under the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy laws.
We do not sell your personal data. We may share data only with: our payment processor (PCI DSS certified), email infrastructure providers under confidentiality agreements, and Canadian law enforcement or regulators when legally required.
The First Nations principles of Ownership, Control, Access, and Possession shape how we handle data related to Indigenous communities, organizations, and individuals. Specifically: we do not require race or Indigenous-identity disclosure from job seekers, we do not aggregate data about Indigenous job seekers in any form that could re-identify individuals, and we do not share user data with any third party beyond what is operationally required.
When a job seeker clicks "Apply via Email," their email client opens with the employer's address pre-filled. We do not intercept, store, or process job seeker email communications.
We retain account data for the duration of your account plus 7 years for tax and legal compliance. Closed job postings are retained for 2 years, then deleted. You may request deletion of your account at any time.
We use only essential session cookies. No tracking or advertising cookies. Our analytics use an in-tab session ID stored in sessionStorage that resets when you close the tab.
Privacy inquiries: tijobs.ca@gmail.com. We respond within 30 days as required by PIPEDA.
